discover the delight of drinking
experience and interaction design 2016

Drinking enough water on a daily basis increases our well being, our health and our cognitive performance. Together with four fellow students, I concentrated on the question on how to get someone, who doesn't drink enough, to drink more, in order to ensure a healthy water intake.
After the evaluation of many interviews and case studies, we came to the conclusion that thirst is also generated through auditive stimuli. Therefore we developed a prototype, that reacts to light and plays sounds throughout the day, such as the whizz of a bottle being opened or the ripple while pouring a glass of water. The recorded sounds work both, as a reminder and a pulse generator.
You can attach the product to the bottle with a flexible, but skidproof ribbon and switch it out if you want to. If the sound is unwanted in certain situations, you can cover the light sensor with a slide control.
